Job summary

Mars Petcare in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Operator 2 for Day Shift (12h, 2-2-3). You will help produce high-quality pet food products, perform change-overs, and ensure GMP and food safety compliance throughout the production line.

You will work with a team, support continuous improvement, and may provide informal leadership to temporary associates. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Computer skills relevant to production.
• Preferred: 1 year pet food/food manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to complete conversion and package the finished product.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform problem-solving.
• Load material, clear jams, reset faults, perform change-overs and quality checks.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance (CILs).
• Ensure quality and food safety conformance.
• Wear PPE and report safety hazards.
• Communicate accurate information using computer systems.
• Provide informal leadership to temporary associates when needed.
• Manage inventory during production.
