Job summary

Deep Roots Drainage is seeking an Equipment Operator in Eastern North Dakota. You will operate excavators, plows, tractors, and support machinery to install drain tile systems across North Dakota. Some projects may require overnight hotel stays during peak seasons and travel to remote sites.

You will verify grades and measurements, assist with layout, and handle materials loading. A strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and high craftsmanship will drive success in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment is required.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift and climb in/out of equipment.
• Strong teamwork and willingness to assist with non‑equipment tasks.
• Dependable, safety‑minded, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Past drainage, construction, or agricultural work is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work extended hours during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as excavators, plows, tractors, skid steers and support machinery.
• Assist with layout, measurement and grade verification for drain tile systems.
• Load, unload and stage materials including pipe and fittings.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs for safe operation.
• Work closely with crew members to maintain efficiency and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and comply with safety policies.
• Uphold safety standards and company regulations.

Deep Roots Drainage is a locally owned company specializing in high‑quality drain tile installation for farms and rural properties across North Dakota. We’re looking for a reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. You’ll be running excavators, bulldozers, and tractors to help with the installation of drain tile systems across North Dakota. If you take safety seriously, work well with a team, and don’t mind a fast‑paced job, you’ll fit right in. Some projects may require travel and staying overnight in a hotel.
