Job summary

Chipton-Ross Inc. is seeking a Production Technician to support filling, sealing, labeling, and packaging of drug containers in a controlled facility. The role requires basic math and the ability to read and follow safety and quality instructions.

You will perform routine quality checks, operate a printer for labeling, and help maintain the equipment and supplies for continuous production. A strong emphasis on cGMP and 6S is required to ensure a clean, compliant workplace.

Responsibilities

• Fill, assemble and plug flexible containers with solutions or premixed drugs at production rate.
• Over-pouch and seal the over-pouch with enclosed bags.
• Inspect and ensure quality of over-pouches, bags and components.
• Print labeling and barcode information on containers with a computerized printer.
• Maintain printer by replacing foil/ribbon and adjustments.
• Supply filling stations with printed bags and supplies for container assembly.
• Perform scheduled quality checks using gauges and a scale.
• Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities.
• Notify supervisor if safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
• Learn and apply cGMP and 6S principles to sustain clean, safe work area.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
• Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Duties performed on a rotational basis
• Fill, assemble and plug flexible containers with solutions or premixed drugs at a rate consistent with production needs
• Over-pouch and seal the over-pouch, enclosing a bag containing solutions or premixed drugs, at a rate consistent with production needs
• Inspect and ensure that the over-pouches, printed bags, filled bags and their components meet quality standards
• Print labeling and bar code information on the flexible containers using a computerized printer
• Maintain the printer by replacing printer foil, ribbon and by making minor adjustments
• Supply the filling stations with printed bags and other supplies necessary to assemble the flexible container
• Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis
• Correct any over-pouch seal or packaging issues previously identified
• Perform scheduled quality checks using an assortment of gauges and a scale
• Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities
• Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
• Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
• Correct any over-pouch seal or packaging issues previously identified
• Print labeling and bar code information on the flexible containers using a computerized printer
• Maintain the printer by replacing printer foil, ribbon and by making minor adjustments
• Supply the filling stations with printed bags and other supplies necessary to assemble the flexible container

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred
• CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• In either a Class III Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, hairnet and beard cover (additional PPE required when cleaning and manually loading trucks) or a Class I Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning) Safety shoes required
• Constant or intermittent exposure to elevated levels of noise
• Involves working around equipment, machinery and belts
• Requires occasionally working with chemical cleaners and disinfectants
• Requires continuous grasping, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds and reaching with hands and arms.
• Lifting and carrying on average up to 16 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
• Normal visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color are necessary.
• Ability to complete quick and precise repetitive processes using both arms and both hands
• Occasionally specialized physicals are required when working with certain drug codes.
• Must be able to squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance

• Accredited high School Diploma or GED.
