Job summary

Landmarc Environmental Systems, LLC is seeking an Operator for our Landmarc projects in the Los Angeles area. This full-time role requires extensive travel, on-site work at landfills, and operating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, and articulated dump trucks.

You will work long hours in outdoor environments, with OT and hotel travel as standard. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years’ experience operating the listed equipment, landfill experience preferred, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Must travel for extended periods - 4 weeks on, 1 week off
• Must live in hotels and travel between states 100% of the time
• Must walk long distances, up and down steep landfill terrain
• Must perform heavy, manual work and lift at least 50 pounds
• Must work in extreme weather safely at odorous sites
• Must clean up work areas and fuel vehicles/equipment
• Must be available for overtime and weekends
• Must assist supervisors with materials/equipment and help collect supplies
• Must perform system construction activities safely
• Must fuse HDPE pipe 2"–36"

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Conduct pre-operational checks; clean, lubricate and refill equipment
• Work with ground personnel in excavation and installation of pipe
• Ensure trench depth/grade is correct
• Grade on 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 slopes
• Cut grade efficiently to keep production on schedule
• Conduct trench work meeting ISO ISA requirements
• Operate excavator with awareness of surroundings
• Understand ground disturbance issues
• Perform routine cleaning/maintenance on excavator
• Be able to assist with groundwork if necessary
• Have landfill construction experience
• Have oil and gas pipeline experience
• 5+ years’ experience operating an excavator, dozer, and ADT
• Landfill experience preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Must travel for extended periods of time - 4 weeks on, 1 week off

• Must walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain
• Must perform heavy, manual work and lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds non‑consistently
• Must work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely, including on very odorous project sites
• Must clean up work areas, clean and fuel vehicles and equipment as necessary
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends if necessary
• Must assist site supervisors with materials and equipment needs and help collect supplies for projects
• Must perform system construction activities in a safe and proper manner
• Must fuse HDPE pipe ranging from 2"–36"

Operator Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Conduct pre‑operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary
• Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe in line and grade
• Ensure the trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade
• Must be able to grade on 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 slopes
• Cut grade with minimal time spent on excavating to keep production on schedule
• Conduct trench work that meets ISO ISA requirements
• Operate an excavator, maintaining proper awareness of surroundings
• Understand issues involving ground disturbance
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the excavator
• Be able to step out of equipment and assist with groundwork if necessary
• Must have landfill construction experience
• Must have oil and gas pipeline experience
• Must have 5+ years’ experience operating an excavator, dozer, and articulated dump truck
• Landfill experience preferred
