Job summary

Ziegenfelder Corporation in Lockhart, TX is seeking a Night Shift Operator for a 10pm–6am shift to oversee production lines, draw mixes, and ensure overnight quality and safety. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow GMP/SQF procedures.

You will lead a small shift, assist maintenance, train new staff, and ensure accurate production records and material usage, while delivering Budget Saver frozen treats on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in a management or leadership role required, preferably in food manufacturing.
• 1-3 years in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure machines run at the proper speed and are well maintained.
• Assist Maintenance to keep machines in good operating condition.
• Draws mix for production and completes downtime reports.
• Ensure quality standards of products are met and supplies are sufficient.

Job description

Job Title: Night Shift Operator (10pm-6am) Location: Lockhart, TX Starting Pay: $19.00/hour Schedule: 40 hours per week with set days off Benefits: Begin on the first day after 60 days of employment

As the Operator, your essential functions will include but are not limited to:

• Ensure machines are running properly at the proper speed.
• Assists Maintenance to ensure machines are in proper operational condition.
• Draws mix for production
• Completes downtime reports and production sheets for shift.
• Ensure quality standards of products are met.
• Ensures the proper number of supplies is present for the shift.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of production lines, producing quality Ziegenfelder treats for delivery to customers.
• Leading and driving a team in a manner consistent with Ziegenfelder Values.
• Follows all GMP and SQF procedures and practices.
• Assists in training new personnel.
• Ensures the work area is clean and organized.
• Train and drive a team in a manner consistent with Ziegenfelder Values.
• Supporting Safety, Quality and the Operation Teams to produce and package quality Ziegenfelder treats.
• Ensure that environmental and safety expectations are met during the shift and that exceptions, needs opportunities are addressed and shared via our Event Management application.
• Verify production paperwork to confirm completion and accuracy of raw material usage logs, metal detector calibrations, and product quality checks.
• Undertaking proper corrective/preventative actions when there is a safety, quality, or defective product event.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience in management or leadership role required, preferably in the food manufacturing environment.
• 1-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.
• Ability to motivate and lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanical or operational background, in addition to the above qualifications, is a plus.
• Must be available to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.

Physical Abilities

• Standing up to 8 hours per day.
• Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
• Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
• May need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly.
• May need to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push, and pull frequently during a shift.

Working Conditions

• Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
• May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.
