Job summary

The Ziegenfelder Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support and maintain production equipment for high-quality frozen treats. The role emphasizes mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems in a food production setting.

You will work across production lines, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with overhauls. Candidates should have a relevant associate degree and significant maintenance experience, including ammonia refrigeration, and be flexible to work any shift.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance, ideally in a food environment.
• 5+ years in Maintenance Technician role, preferably in food manufacturing.
• 3-5 years in a food manufacturing environment preferred or equivalent/relevant experience.
• 2+ years as a machinist, if applicable.
• Industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Ability to motivate in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidate must be flexible in working any shift available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain production equipment for quality treats.
• Configure machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLCs, and hydraulic systems; provide immediate maintenance support.
• Check and maintain fluid levels in equipment.
• Overhaul existing production equipment as needed.
• Complete daily checks of ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and air systems.
• Inspect and repair facility items per manager guidance.
• Install new production equipment; read manuals and work orders.
• Comply with OSHA safety rules; ensure food safety.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance ideally in a food environment
• 5+ years of experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably in the food manufacturing environment or equivalent/relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred or equivalent/relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a machinist, if applicable.
• Industrial electrical experience is preferred.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Ability to motivate in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidate must be flexible in working any shift available for this position

Physical Abilities

• Standing up to 8 hours per day.
• Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
• Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
• Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
• May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $26.00/hour
• Schedule: 40 hours per week with set days off
• Benefits: Begin on the first day after 60 days of employment
