Clariant is seeking an Industrial Room Operator for the Additives & Adsorbents unit in Belen, NM, on the second shift. You will operate packaging equipment, follow process instructions, and ensure product quality while keeping accurate records.

The role emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and teamwork, with training opportunities and a three-month trial through a third-party agent, potentially transitioning to direct employment with Clariant.

Qualifications

• Must be able to fluently read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Read and review process orders for specific instructions and specifications.
• Document all required in-process forms clearly and legibly.
• Operate bag and packet sealing machines.
• Lift up to 35 lbs as part of packaging operations.
• Visually inspect material prior to packaging to ensure quality.
• Read and use a ruler accurately during packaging.
• Monitor bag/packet quality per specs and frequency.
• Alert technician of defective material for action.
• Make machine adjustments using tools (wrenches, etc.).
• Maintain housekeeping on machines and surrounding areas.
• Follow department procedures and safety rules.
• Communicate and report issues to leadership.

Join Clariant as an Industrial Room Operator within the Additives & Adsorbents Business Unit, supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is responsible for operating packaging equipment, following process instructions, and ensuring products meet all quality specifications. You will perform routine machine adjustments, maintain accurate documentation and housekeeping standards, and comply with all safety and operational procedures. The role also supports team communication, training activities, and continuous improvement within the department. Working on the second shift, you’re have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, contribute to a strong team, and play an important role in keeping our operations running smoothly. This role will initially be through a third-party employer for a three-month period, with the possibility of an extension and a transition to direct employment with Clariant.

• Must be able to make weight adjustments when needed
• Able to run all available machines in the department efficiently

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience
• Must be able to fluently read and write in English
• Basic mathematical skills
