Job summary

Eco Material Technologies, a CRH company, is seeking a plant operator to safely and efficiently run plant equipment and perform site duties at our Illinois facility. You will oversee loading/unloading, monitor fly ash levels, test materials, and ensure compliance with company procedures.

The role requires a practical mix of technical skill, problem-solving, and commitment to safety standards to meet production targets and maintain high quality outputs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and related trade training.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Strong verbal communication skills and teamwork.
• Capacity to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work habits to help create a zero-injury safety culture
• Attends regular safety meetings and follows all safety guidelines as required
• Maintain communication with utility
• Monitor and record levels of fly ash in silos and place orders as needed
• Pulls samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing and performs tests
• Loads trucks, rail cars or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
• Unloads trucks, rail cars, or other delivery system to fill fly ash silos
• Weighs trucks and rail cars and records information for billing
• Operates loading equipment on site when required
• Operate production equipment including start up and shut down

Job Summary

Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and performing site work based on accepted company procedures. Duties will include overseeing the loading and unloading of materials, monitoring inventory levels, testing material, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding operational standards to achieve operational targets.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment including start up and shut down

• High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
• At least 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Compensation

• The hourly pay rate is $22 / hr
