Job summary

LRS is hiring for a MRF Operator at our Illinois facility. The role focuses on safe operation of heavy equipment, daily pre/post inspections, and adherence to DOT loading rules.

You will monitor performance, report maintenance needs, and support the site supervisor in ensuring timely, compliant waste processing. Ideal candidates will read and speak English well, be comfortable working indoors and outdoors, and comply with all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and speak English clearly to communicate instructions, directions, and safety training.
• Ability to operate in a safety‑driven environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of equipment to ensure fluids and safety devices are functioning properly.
• Monitor equipment performance and report repairs to maintenance.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and keep the machine and cab clean.
• Monitor incoming materials and report unacceptable waste to management.
• Maximize truck load weights per DOT regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports To

Site Supervisor

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspection of the equipment per company standards to ensure fluid levels are at proper levels and safety devises are functioning properly
• Continuously monitor the performance of the equipment and report any repairs needed to the maintenance department
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Keep machine and cab clean
• Monitor materials coming in and report all unacceptable waste to management
• Maximize truck load weights per DOT regulations
• Perform other job duties as assigned

• Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

Physical Demands / Environmental Factors

• Equipment operator position requires the operation of equipment with open and closed cabs.
• Required to work indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to weather extremes and dusty conditions.
• Required to work within close proximity to customers and will be exposed to busy traffic patterns.
