Job summary

MPE Inc. is seeking an Operations Training Manager to lead the training department and oversee all operations training programs. The role manages training resources, defines content and delivery, and partners with leadership to align learning strategies with company goals.

You will work with production managers, develop OJT programs, track training records, and drive continuous improvement through metrics, adult learning principles, and effective written procedures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of training-related experience in manufacturing.
• Lead/Trainer experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create written procedural documentation.
• Knowledge of production techniques, assembly processes, and quality practices.
• Train the trainer certification a plus.

The Operations Training Manager leads the training department and all operations training programs. This role manages training resources and defines training programs, content, and delivery. This role provides operations employees with the knowledge and skills to improve performance in their current role and development opportunities to allow them to grow into future roles. The Operations Training Manager partners with organization leadership to execute learning and development strategies that align with and support the organization's strategic initiatives and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a structured approach to On-The -Job (OJT) training.
• Collaborate with production managers and supervisors to develop and support training programs.
• Define performance success metrics that align with the organization's success metrics.
• Use adult learning principles to design, create and develop learning solutions that meet defined learning objectives.
• Implement a Train the Trainer program.
• Participate in the development or improvement of process work instructions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training for continuous improvement of content and delivery of programs.
• Develop a consultative partnership with all business units within the organization.
• Coordinate the tracking and maintenance of employee training records.
• Identify new training methodologies and tools.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term training and developmental strategies that align to the organization's strategy and goals.

Education

• Associates Degree Preferred.

Experience and/or Training

• 10+ years of training-related experience
• Lead/Trainer experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of adult learning principles
• Ability to read, interpret, and create written procedural documentation
• Knowledge of general production technical skills, assembly processes, and quality practices
• Ability to effectively work and communicate with others
• Understanding of business principles and organizational behavior
• Ability to establish relationships within all levels of the organization
• Train the trainer certification a plus

Physical and Mental Demands

• Frequently required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods across office, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
• Visual acuity to review data, analyze reports, and observe operational processes, with color perception required.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with technical abilities and a strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of the importance of standardized processes, paired with sharp analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate personnel and complex processes and identify root causes.
• Ability to interpret data, metrics, and financial impact analyses to drive decisions.
• Resourceful with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with shifting priorities.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

• Work hour flexibility is required. Working hours are generally weekdays during normal business hours, typically averaging a minimum of 45-50 hours per week to ensure continuous support for projects and production as needed.
