Summary

The Operations Training Lead supports the Operations Training Supervisor in implementing and maintaining effective training programs for production team members in the cheese conversion plant. This role ensures employees are trained to meet safety, quality, and operational standards while promoting a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI). The Training Lead acts as a mentor, resource, and contributor to the plant’s training and performance goals.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Support the Training Supervisor in executing training programs for new hires and existing staff.
  2. Deliver hands-on instruction on equipment operation, sanitation, safety, and quality standards.
  3. Assist with onboarding and orientation, ensuring clear communication of expectations.
  4. Monitor performance and provide coaching to ensure standards are met.
  5. Conduct observations and report on progress or concerns.
  6. Maintain training records in systems such as Alchemy and Q-Matrix.
  7. Serve as a role model for safety, GMP compliance, and SOPs.
  8. Partner with team members for development and cross-training.
  9. Support CI initiatives and participate in team meetings.
  10. Reinforce safety, quality, and CI culture daily.
  11. Assist with shift communication and updates.
  12. Act as lead when needed and support the Training Supervisor.
  13. Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Education And/or Experience
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  2. 2+ years in manufacturing, preferably in food or dairy processing.
  3. Experience in a lead, trainer, or mentor role is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
  1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Knowledge of cheese conversion equipment and procedures.
  3. Understanding of safety practices, GMPs, and quality standards.
  4. Familiarity with training systems (e.g., Alchemy, Q-Matrix) is a plus.
  5. Dependable, detail-oriented, able to work independently or in teams.
  6. Flexible hours and shift work as needed.
Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and vision requirements, with accommodations available if needed.

Work Environment

Exposure to noise, wet/humid conditions, chemicals, odors, and air particulates typical of a cheese processing environment. Reasonable accommodations are available.
