Job summary

SunOpta is seeking an Operations Training Coordinator at the Alexandria, MN facility to implement and maintain training programs ensuring SOP, safety, and quality compliance. You will support onboarding, develop train-the-trainer programs, and manage diverse delivery methods across production teams.

You will track outcomes in the LMS, collaborate with HR on career paths, participate in safety committees, and help standardize practices to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence on

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production training, or process improvement.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical instruction.
• Proficient with MS Excel, with working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and LMS management.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience conducting on-the-job training.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
• Experience with cross-functional project management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate hands-on and classroom training for production employees on processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Support onboarding of new hires with focus on operations, quality standards, and policies.
• Deliver train-the-trainer programs to ensure standardized, high-quality learning experiences for hourly employees.
• Coordinate learning through classroom, virtual training and on-the-job coaching.
• Identify training needs and skill gaps with site leadership.
• Track training outcomes and provide feedback to participants and management.
• Collaborate with HR to establish career pathing and training plans for hourly workforce.
• Maintain SOPs, training manuals, and process documentation with SMEs.
