Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Operations Trainer is to support the Operations Training Manager in executing their tasks, such as identifying training needs, developing and delivering educational workshops, and ensuring knowledge retention through ongoing assessments and performance reviews. Specific duties include:

  • Collaborate with IEA Leadership to ensure employees perform according to training standards.
  • Support and work with the Manager of Field Engineering to:
    • Audit SharePoint and Viewpoint documentation for quality and accuracy.
    • Provide skill assessments and training recommendations.
    • Engage in performance review evaluations and support career development.
  • Create technical training programs for operations-based employees and leadership:
    • Develop onboarding, annual, and ad hoc educational programs.
    • Maintain and create instructional materials such as manuals, videos, and project documents.
    • Conduct individual calls with Project Engineers and site visits.
    • Support Operations Management in adherence to Corporate Policies and Procedures.
    • Moderate and present various in-person training sessions.
    • Provide supplementary training on different project delivery methods.

    The position is ideally based in Indianapolis, with an estimated maximum of 12 weeks of travel per year for training and site visits.

    Bachelor's Degree

    Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with IEA's Construction Operations processes, including documentation control, engineering management, job costing, forecasting, estimating, contract management, and construction management tools like Viewpoint, Power BI, and CPM Scheduling.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
    • Experience in education and mentorship programs.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to transfer knowledge effectively using various teaching techniques.
    Training
    • On-the-job, compliance, and safety training.
    • Participation in all IEA training programs.
