Job summary

Legends Global is seeking an Operations Technician/Handyman to perform and coordinate a range of maintenance and repair tasks at our venues. The role supports emergency response efforts and ensures facilities remain in peak condition.

You will conduct plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and flooring work, follow safety protocols, and document work orders. The position requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and readiness for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs across trades including carpentry, painting, drywall, and related tasks.
• Install and repair fixtures, appliances, doors, fences, gates, cabinets, and kitchen equipment.

• Perform general plumbing and basic welding work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Respond to alarms and urgent service requests as part of the Emergency Response Team.

The Role

The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenances, repairs, and installations tasks to keep the venue in good appearance and operational condition. This role requires problem-solving skills, knowledge of multiple trades, and the ability to work independently while delivering high-quality service. As a member of the facility’s Emergency Response Team, the technician participates in preparedness and recovery efforts for emergencies—whether natural, human-caused, or due to system failures affecting operations. Additionally, the technician will respond to service calls related to urgent events or operational needs.

• Perform general repairs, including but not limited to concrete, masonry, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
• Install and repair fixtures, appliances, doors, fences, gates, door hardware, cabinets, and kitchen equipment.
• Repair or install tiles, carpets, and other flooring materials.
• Perform general plumbing and basic welding work.
• Conduct routine property maintenance and preventive inspections.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Assemble furniture and equipment as needed.
• Replace damaged parts, hardware, and building components.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate with clients or supervisors regarding repair needs and project status.
• Keep accurate records of completed work and materials used.
• Support other technical staff members (Industrial Mechanic, Electricians, HVAC).
• Assist and facilitate the work of Operations subcontractors when required.
• Execute work orders generated by the building maintenance system, ensuring timely completion and reporting observations.
• Respond to alarms from facility security and emergency systems.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Initiate purchase requisitions and submit them for supervisor approval.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety codes.
• Operate equipment safely for manual or motorized cargo movement.
• Maintain and operate tools within the maintenance workshop.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• As part of the Emergency Response Team, actively participate in tasks to protect and restore facility operations.
• Perform additional tasks as requested related to building operations.

Handyman position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must use proper lifting techniques and, when the weight, dimensions, frequency, or working conditions require it, seek assistance from another employee or use available mechanical equipment to perform the task safely.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The position does not involve managing or supervising other employees.

Qualifications

To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to meet the following requirements.

Education and/or Experience Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems. Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Skills and Abilities Strong critical thinking and logical problem-solving skills. Positive attitude toward continuous learning and skill improvement. Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently. Strong prioritization and multitasking skills. Professionalism, ethical behavior, and adherence to company policies.

Flexibility to work various schedules, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended workdays, and multiple consecutive days as needed. Must be accessible for contact and available to respond to emergencies as required.

Strong teamwork orientation. Ability to perform tasks related to other trades when necessary.

Capability to work at heights and climb areas while carrying loads.

Computer Skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook). Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Driver’s License.
