Job summary

Landus Cooperative is seeking a motivated individual to join the team to manage outside agronomy and grain operations at our location. You will greet customers, support agronomy and feed sales, grain origination, and assist in elevator, fertilizer and chemical operations as needed.

The role involves receiving/unloading grain, grain drying, inventory measurements, and loading trains. A valid driver's license is required, with physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and wage expectations typical

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations, if applicable to location.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keep facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report to supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
