Job summary

LANXESS in El Dorado, AR, is seeking a Operations Associate for the IOB unit. You will support and participate in projects to maintain safe, efficient operations, while adhering to safety, environmental policies, and housekeeping standards.

You will monitor processes in the field or control room, perform multiple functions, troubleshoot problems, and assist in routine maintenance. A strong safety mindset and ability to work twelve-hour rotating shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously.
• Good problem-solving skills and troubleshooting ability.
• Twelve-hour rotating day/night shifts and overtime as needed.

• Safe and efficient operations of the IOB unit by supporting and participating in all related projects
• Ensure all Safety and Environmental policies are followed
• Follow good housekeeping practices to ensure area meets expectations
• Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed
• Ability to cross train on all operations within the area
• Monitor the process in the field and/or in control room to report unusual and unsafe conditions
• Identify routine maintenance requirements
• Participate in activities and meetings which will enhance plant safety, reliability, cost and environmental performance as well as area production objectives
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with site standards and coach others to do the same

Experience / Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in operations preferred
• Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot
• Must be able to work twelve-hour rotating day/night and overtime as needed
• Mechanical aptitude (working with pipe wrenches and tools needed for plant activities and minor maintenance)
• Experience in operating a forklift or ability to learn
• Participation in plant safety programs
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
