Job description

As Operations Technician III, you’ll perform a variety of tasks, including reading and interpreting drawings, supporting pipeline operations, safely maintaining facility equipment and analyzing data to resolve technical and operational problems. Knowledge of permits and compliance, accurate record‑keeping and a focus on safety will bring success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Safely maintain equipment and support pipeline operations, including reading and interpreting drawings, inspecting and supervising equipment, and maintaining operational, technical, and governmental standards.
  • Analyze data and collaborate with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems.
  • Follow all company policies and apply appropriate operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Acquire knowledge of and adhere to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
  • Maintain general knowledge of site/location/equipment permits and compliance.
  • Complete assigned reports, logs and maintain accurate records of process operations and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of three (3) years’ demonstrated experience as an operations technician or similar role (required).
  • Associate’s degree or 2‑year technical degree plus a minimum of two (2) years of multifaceted operations technician experience in the oil and gas industry (preferred).
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces.
  • Carry or lift items up to 50 lb and team lift loads of more than 50 lb as needed.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time.
  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE.
  • Use hand tools.
Shift, Work Hours & Travel Requirements
  • Available to work after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to work overtime, 10–12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
Other Requirements
  • Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the utmost priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, PC skills, and advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers.

Thoroughly understands industry and system requirements and has demonstrated ability to produce results and meet more complex goals.
