Job summary

Williams is seeking an LNG Operations Technician I in New Jersey to perform daily to monthly tasks that safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations under direct supervision. You’ll train toward becoming an Outside Operator for liquefaction and vaporization systems.

You will read drawings and P&IDs, keep accurate records, follow procedures, and participate in LNG training and safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Associates or 2-year technical degree preferred.
  • Technical licenses/certificates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily/weekly/monthly tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations.
  • Carries out moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments under direct supervision.
  • Works towards becoming qualified as an Outside Operator for liquefaction and vaporization systems.
  • Trains to operate holding mode including boil-off compressors and other plant equipment.
  • Completes LNG training, Life Criticals, SSE Program, and Williams Essentials.
  • Follows operation, maintenance, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Reads drawings, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams; maintains records and logs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

As an LNG Operations Technician I, you will perform a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, ensuring compliance with technical standards and governmental requirements under direct oversight. You’ll handle moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments with direct supervision and work towards becoming qualified as an Outside Operator for the liquefaction and vaporization systems. Responsibilities/Expectations
  • Performs a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, ensuring compliance with technical standards and governmental requirements under direct oversight
  • Carries out moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments with direct supervision
  • Works towards becoming qualified as an Outside Operator for the liquefaction and vaporization systems
  • Trains to become a qualified Operator for holding mode, including operating the boil-off compressors and other necessary plant equipment
  • Completes and passes all required initial LNG training, Life Criticals, Williams SSE Program, and Williams Essentials
  • Follows and complies with operation, maintenance, security, and emergency procedures
  • Reads and interprets drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs, and maintain accurate records by completing assigned reports and logs
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience
  • Required: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and technical licenses/certificates
Other Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License from the state in which you live and a clear driving record
  • Must be able to pass an LNG pre-employment physical as required by federal law
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
  • Must stay apprised of and abide by all company policies
Physical and Environmental Work Requirements
  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
  • Carry and lift items that weigh a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
  • Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holiday as needed
  • May be required to work overtime, 10–12-hour shifts, extended hours, and travel between William's locations with occasional overnight stays
