Job summary

Woodward’s Loves Park, IL facility is seeking an AWS 2nd shift Operations Technician to support the FMU Line with assembly and rework tasks on aerospace parts. You will operate equipment, follow SOPs, and participate in training to advance manufacturing skills. Shift is Mon-Thu 3:25pm-1:55am with mandatory first-week training.

Ideal candidates are experienced machine operators or those eager to develop manufacturing expertise, with a safety-focused mindset and commitment to quality.

• Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues in assembly and testing.
• Maintains accuracy and quality in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot the FMU line equipment to meet production standards.
• Record daily operations and escalate deviations as needed.
• Assist in training teammates on tasks and procedures.
• Support 5S organization and maintain clean work areas.
• Contribute to safety initiatives and abide by company policies.

Woodward in Loves Park, IL is hiring for an AWS 2nd shift (M-Th 3:25pm-1:55am) Operations Technician to support our FMU Line doing Assembly & Rework Operations at our Rock Cut Campus . This individual will be responsible for manufacturing aerospace parts and components. If you are an experienced machine operator or are looking to advance your manufacturing skills

Mandatory Training for 1st 2 weeks: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Training starting week 3: M-Th 3:25pm-1:55am

Key Responsibilities

• Operations: Follows documented procedures, solves problems with unknown solutions, supports training of other members, leads complex or specialized tasks, troubleshoots challenges, and ensures adherence to production standards. Flexes and supports the full product line in various processes/ capacities.
• Process: Maintains key process variables to ensure consistency and quality in operations. Accurately logs daily operations and resolves or escalates concerns. Follows documented procedures, solves problems with unknown solutions, leads complex or specialized tasks, troubleshoots special process challenges, and ensures adherence to standards.
• Quality Control: Champions clarity and accuracy in documented processes and procedures, and collaborates with cross-functional teams.
• Organization & Cleanliness: Champions 5S principles, develops and refines 5S practices, and ensures consistent adherence to standards across the team or department. Collaborates with front line leadership to integrate 5S principles into broader operational processes.
