Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices at all times.
• Monitors centrifuge systems for sludge dewatering and assists maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication and minor repairs.
• Performs routine inspections of centrifuge equipment, pumps, polymer systems, and associated piping and hoses.
• Completes daily operations and inspection reports and maintains logs and data.
• Collects and analyzes samples to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met.
• Coordinates with maintenance for planned and unplanned shutdowns or repairs.
• Handles and stores chemicals properly and adheres to safety procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Operations Technician As an Operations Technician you will be responsible for completing field work at a customer site in Whiting, Indiana to meet the goals of the onsite operation of centrifuge equipment. This role supports Operators in achieving environmental compliance, waste minimization, and continuous operations by monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining equipment and associated processes.

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Assists the Operations team to monitor centrifuge systems for sludge dewatering
• Assists the Operations team with maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
• Conducts routine inspections of centrifuge equipment, pumps, polymer systems, and associated piping and hoses
• Completes daily operations and inspection reports; maintains accurate logs, reports and operational data in accordance with facility procedures
• Collects and analyze samples (sludge, centrate, & oil effluent) to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
• Coordinates with maintenance team for planned and unplanned shutdowns or repairs
• Ensures proper handling and storage of chemicals (e.g., polymers, coagulants)
• Follows all refinery safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazard communication
• Prepares necessary supplies, tools, monitors and other equipment for daily operations
• Provides labor support for installation of liners in roll-off boxes and safely operates pumps, heaters, forklifts, filters, scrubber systems and sampling
• Monitors pumps and piping systems, tank levels, centrifuge operations, loading and unloading operations and roll-off boxes
• Operate small hand tools and equipment; make repairs to equipment as needed
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience

• Previous experience in a related role (preferred)
• OSHA 10 or 40-Hour certification (preferred)
