The Kuiper Electronic Supply Chain team seeks an Operations Program Manager to oversee technical manufacturing and supply chain operations for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) for our satellites. The role involves managing contract manufacturers' production processes, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Key job responsibilities

1. Manage contract manufacturers' end-to-end production process for PCBAs
2. Ensure on-time delivery to meet Kuiper production requirements
3. Drive production planning and execution aligned with cross-functional priorities
4. Measure, control, and improve capacity, quality, manufacturing rate/processes, and delivery KPIs at contract manufacturers
5. Lead technical deep dives to resolve manufacturing blockers and constraints
6. Balance development and engineering needs to minimize production impacts
7. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supply chain risks
9. Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting systems

A day in the life

As an Operations Program Manager at Kuiper, you'll review upcoming deliveries, blockers, and production metrics daily. You'll participate in meetings to address immediate issues, analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, and work with suppliers on process improvements. You may also engage in technical reviews with engineering, visit supplier sites, and present performance updates to leadership, balancing tactical and strategic responsibilities.

Minimum qualifications

• 3+ years in technical program management, operations, or supply chain roles
• 5+ years working directly with engineering teams
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams
• Technical knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes, capacity assessments, and quality standards
• Experience with continuous improvement, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective Action (COE)
• Data-driven decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with supplier development and manufacturing transfers
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
• Experience managing electronics contract manufacturers in aerospace or defense
• Knowledge of space-grade electronics manufacturing standards (J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC-A-610 Space Addendum, AS9100)
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
• Experience with lean manufacturing and kaizen events
