Job summary

SCHEELS Sports Park at Legacy Pointe in Springfield, IL seeks an Operations Team Member to support game setup, scoring, guest services, and daily park operations. This part-time, non-exempt role contributes to a safe, enjoyable experience for participants, members, and guests, while upholding park policies and teamwork.

You will work across games, turf areas, restrooms, and events, coordinating with management and other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in the Sports/Recreation field.
• Strong eye for detail and safety compliance.
• Experience operating an electric scoreboard.
• Experience in coaching or mentoring athletes or children.
• Proven success in being a quality team member.
• Experience with baseball, softball, soccer, football, lacrosse, basketball, pickleball and/or volleyball events.
• Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and organization.
• Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct equipment is available for games, and proper set up of all play areas.
• Ensure games start on time and are scored accurately.
• Monitor all game play areas including turf and courts.
• Maintain and control trash in all areas of the park and buildings.
• Monitor, maintain and service restrooms in all areas of the parks and buildings.
• Consistently communicate issues and relevant updates to your supervisor and applicable Team members.
• Assist with the coordination of all programming and applicable events.
• Assist other departments as necessary.
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management.
• Greet guests and provide answers and directions as needed.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and staff.
• Be knowledgeable about prices, leagues, and events.
• Report all incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations to GM, AGM, or MOD.
• Know and enforce the facility’s policies, procedures, and rules.
• Take one shift-lead responsibilities that are earned/awarded based on merit & experience.
• Keep book during games.
• Accurately operate scoreboard.
• Additional tasks assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Operations Team Member will be responsible for a variety of duties dependent upon the need for the day, while providing participants, members and/or guests an excellent experience in every aspect.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high
• May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend into awkward positions while performing job functions
• Facility has intermittent noise
• Will be required to operate a computer
• Must be able to walk intermittently
• Must be able to safely operate a Utility Vehicle

Salary: $16 - $18 per hour
