Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking an Operations Support Technician to help ensure our manufacturing and service operations run smoothly. This hands-on role involves following regulations, data entry in CMMS (SAP), and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work with a team to monitor safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory, read blueprints, operate cranes and forklifts, and apply lean practices. HVAC and welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and fabrication tasks.
• Proficient with SAP and basic computer skills.
• HVAC and welding experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and simple schematics.
• Experience in lean manufacturing (4Q, JIDOKA, 6S) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Monitor and improve performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory goals.
• Promote and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Complete work orders and enter data into CMMS (SAP) daily.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and SAP (CMMS) schedules.
• Report downtime concerns to the Lead Technician.
• Submit parts and tool requirements through inventory systems.
• Assist in managing overall shift performance and communicate work assignments.
