Job summary

Newrez is seeking an Operations Support & Reporting Assistant to help monitor daily workflows, flag issues, and support reporting that guides decision-making across teams. The role requires strong Excel, SQL/Python skills, and willingness to learn Aspen Grove.

The candidate will build internal reports, track progress, and assist in process improvements, working on-site to support leadership and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced mortgage operations environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including formulas and VBA.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL and/or Python for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Willingness to learn Aspen Grove.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Support & Reporting Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Associate Director of Operations by tracking daily workflows, flagging operational red flags, and assisting in the development of internal reports that help guide decision-making across teams.

DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Operational Monitoring & Project Support: Monitor operational workflow summaries to identify issues or trends that require follow‑up. Support leadership in day‑to‑day project tracking, flagging delays or bottlenecks. Assist with light administrative tasks including data entry, task tracking, and report formatting.
  • Reporting & Data Analysis: Build and maintain internal reports and dashboards using SQL, Python, Excel, and VBA. Work closely with operational teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into usable tools.
  • Process Improvement & Systems: Participate in the continuous improvement of workflows by providing feedback and reporting insights. Learn and use company‑specific software platforms (including Aspen Grove). Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Working on‑site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
