Barnhart Crane & Rigging in Memphis, TN is seeking an Operations Support Manager to lead a team of Project Coordinators on crane, rigging, and heavy haul projects across North America. The role blends people leadership, project execution, and customer relationship management to deliver successful outcomes for clients.

You will recruit and mentor coordinators, coordinate resources with project managers and operations, and monitor project performance and financials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience in construction, logistics, transportation, industrial services, or a related industry.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience working directly with customers and cross-functional operations teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop the Project Coordinator Team: Recruit, hire, onboard, and train Project Coordinators.
• Coach and mentor Project Coordinators on Barnhart's project management processes and best practices.
• Lead regular team meetings to review project progress, identify challenges, and develop solutions.
• Support the growth and development of Project Coordinators through hands-on project involvement.
• Serve as Project Manager and primary customer contact for major projects in partnership with Project Coordinators.
• Manage select projects independently to support team workload and development.
• Assign projects to Project Coordinators and provide guidance throughout project execution.
• Monitor project progress to help ensure successful outcomes for customers and the branch.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Branch Leadership to identify and resolve resource conflicts.
• Help coordinate labor, equipment, and other resources across projects.
• Support Project Managers by assigning Project Coordinators based on project needs and priorities.
• Review the financial performance of projects supported by the Project Coordinator team.
• Identify project risks and support problem resolution.
• Provide project status updates and reporting to Branch Leadership.

Location:

This is a fully onsite, in-office position based in Memphis, TN. Candidates must currently reside in the greater Memphis area or be willing to relocate prior to their start date.

  • Experience coordinating labor, equipment, and other resources across multiple projects.
  • Formal project management training or certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent) preferred.
