Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years related experience and/or training.
• Must have a Restricted Use Pesticide License (RUP).
• Pesticide Applicator License desired.
• Knowledge of local geography/roads/farms and ability to build trust with customers.
• Ability to calibrate a variety of application equipment.
• Ability to maintain maintenance records for equipment.
• Ability to set up and calibrate injection equipment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge in mechanical, electrical welding and metal fabrication is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate newer model application equipment and calibrate it.
• Load/mix/apply pesticides and consider adjuvants, mixing order and weather conditions.
• Load and deliver fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
• Maintain general plant equipment and housekeeping.
• Receive and unload product deliveries and manage warehouse/inventory.
• Perform miscellaneous duties including trainings and back-up as needed.

Summary

Under general direction, performs a variety of job responsibilities which may include operation of a newer model application equipment, delivery of fertilizer and chemical products to customers, equipment and plant maintenance and fertilizer blending.

Key Responsibilities

• Product application, calibrating application equipment, application equipment maintenance, and cleaning and storing application equipment
• Assist in loading/mixing/applying pesticides, gaining understanding of the importance of including proper adjuvants, mixing order, temperature, other field/weather conditions potentially influencing application.
• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
• General plant equipment maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities.
• Receiving and unloading product deliveries and warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
• Misc. duties such as special projects, attending provided trainings, providing back-up when/where needed.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Two plus years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of the local geography/roads/farms and ability to develop trust with management that moderate to heavy traffic can be negotiated effectively.
• Ability to assist in equipment rebuilds.
• Ability to calibrate a variety of application equipment.
• Ability to maintain maintenance records for equipment.
• Ability to set up and calibrate injection equipment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge in the areas of mechanical, electrical welding and metal fabrication are a plus.

Required Certifications

• Must have a RUP Restricted Use Pesticide License.
• Have or able to obtain a Pesticide Applicator License is desired.
