Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Sterling, VA to oversee local staff and ensure efficient transportation operations. You will assign coverage, manage sub-hauler payments, and escalate issues to leadership while supporting a fast-paced supply chain environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
• Strong leadership and creative thinking skills for supervising staff.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support dispatcher and ensure customer requirements are met.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Track empty container availability and timely pickups.
• Provide escalated customer support as needed.
• Forward PODs on various web-billed accounts.
• Monitor container releases to prevent demurrage costs.
• Develop and mentor staff and train on policies.
• Oversee interviewing, hiring, and resolving issues.

Whatyou’lldo on a typical day:

• Provide elevated support to thedispatcher, ensuringcustomerrequirementsare met
• Make appointments for pickup and delivery
• Trackempty container availability and ensure container is picked upin a timely manner
• Provide escalated customer support as needed
• Forward PODs on various web-billed accounts
• Track container releases from the pier/rail to prevent demurrage costs
• Develop and mentor staff to reach goals;train staff on company policies and procedures
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring,discipliningand resolving issues

What you need to succeed atGXO:

At a minimum,you’llneed:

• 2 years of experience in transportation orlogistics

It’dbe great if you also have:

• Bachelor’s degreein a related field
• Solidleadership andcreative thinkingskills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees
