Job summary

SkyChefs is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Ramp & Transportation in Austin, TX. You will oversee airline catering drivers, dispatch operations, and last-mile delivery to aircraft, ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time performance.

The role requires leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, strong communication, and the ability to manage schedules, training, and performance. On-site, with a weekly Tue–Sat schedule and typical hours 9am–5:30pm.

Position Overview

The Operations Supervisor - Transportation is responsible for overseeing airline catering drivers and dispatch operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of catering services from the facility to the aircraft (LML-last mile). This role leads daily ramp and transportation operations, ensures compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory standards, supports exceptional customer service, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced airline catering environment.

• Work location: SkyChefs located near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
• Work type: Onsite
• Work schedule:Tuesday-Saturday with Sunday and Monday off. Typical hours are 9am-5:30pm
  We operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Schedule flexibility is required, including the ability to start earlier, stay later, or adjust hours based on business needs.

What You'll Do

Operations & Supervision

• Lead day-to-day ramp operations, including management of airline catering drivers, dispatch functions, and route coordination, ensuring the safe, efficient, and on-time transport of catering equipment and supplies to and from the facility to the aircraft
• Manages ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Verify drivers follow all SOPs, safety standards, and operational procedures
• Monitor and drive on-time performance to ensure service level expectations are consistently achieved
• Maintain and ensure proper driver scheduling, staffing coverage, and shift compliance
• Oversee operational workflows to ensure all areas are organized, staffed, and directed effectively to meet production and delivery timelines
• Ensure timely and accurate catering and delivery of all flights according to operational standards and customer requirements
• Lead daily team huddles to communicate operational goals, priorities, updates, and performance expectations
• Monitor employee breaks and lunches to ensure compliance with labor standards and operational coverage
• Address operational issues proactively, including gate changes, missing items, service recovery, and customer callbacks
• Ensure digital operational tools and innovations are fully utilized, including GroundStar, FTT, SFS, and related systems
• Document processes, identify operational gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and execution

Compliance, Safety & Security

• Maintain knowledge of airline, ramp, and transportation safety and security procedures
• Perform Ramp Safety Observations (RSOs) and reinforce safe work practices across operations
• Ensure strict adherence to FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP, and company policies and procedures
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through coaching, audits, engagement, and accountability
• Conduct regular compliance and safety audits and follow up on corrective actions as needed
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge, including successful completion of a 10-year federal background check and fingerprinting requirements

Leadership & Team Development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment. Strong operational leadership and supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of airline catering, transportation, dispatch, or logistics operations preferred Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Customer service oriented with a proactive approach to issue resolution Experience utilizing operational technology systems and reporting tools Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance/SIDA badge
