• Some knowledge of computers.
• Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in a scrap yard: torches, cranes, loaders, forklifts, bobcats, shears, balers, and more.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the processing of scrap to maximize efficiency while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
• Oversee yard operations and guide yard personnel.
• May order and purchase parts and equipment.
• Perform weekly and monthly inspections of equipment and machinery.
• Maintain site and equipment maintenance records.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic problems and direct repairs.
• Enforce safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the processing of scrap as efficiently as possible while promoting an accident-free and environmentally compliant workplace. The Yard Supervisor is also responsible for oversight of the yard personnel and day to day operations including maintenance on equipment, monthly inspections, and safety.

• Works with site and regional staff, vendor/suppliers, and clients/customers.
• Operations necessary equipment to process material.
• Oversees yard operations including guiding employees.
• May order and purchases parts and equipment.
• May perform weekly and monthly inspections of all equipment and machinery.
• Maintains site and equipment maintenance records.
• Responsible for troubleshooting hydraulic problems and directing personnel in repairing equipment.
• Responsible for enforcement of safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Sills and Experience:

• Must have 3 – 5 years applicable industry experience or related industry.

• Must have some knowledge of computers.
• Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in a scrap yard including but not limited to: torches, cranes, loaders, forklifts, bobcats, shears, balers, and other production-related equipment.
