Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a shift in our service center, ensuring safety, efficiency and top-tier service while building a high-performing team.

You will coordinate loading/unloading, monitor OSHA/DOT compliance, and drive continuous improvement using our AS400, BLU and DYMS systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 2 years of experience with operations in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a shift or section in a service center to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and service standards.
• Train and develop staff; provide feedback on performance and productivity.
• Monitor safety, OSHA and DOT compliance daily.
• Coordinate loading/unloading, scheduling, and shipments.
• Use OD's systems (AS400, BLU, DYMS) to monitor freight movement.
• Lead daily shift meetings and communicate schedules.
