Primary purpose:
• Responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the Dore and Sidney Rail Terminals and ensuring the reliability of rail terminal equipment, measurement practices, and compliance with safety, O&M, Operating, PSM, DOT, FRA, and environmental policies and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Inspect all aspects of operations within the assigned area.
- Maintain work schedules, approve employee time cards, and manage on-call schedules.
- Review daily reports for accuracy.
- Respond to callouts as needed to ensure continuous operation.
- Schedule pipeline pigging operations.
- Report all safety and environmental issues to the manager.
- Develop and maintain good safety habits.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a safe work environment by wearing proper PPE and setting a good example.
- Seek innovative ways to improve safety, O&M procedures, and efficiency.
- Support maintenance activities, such as running parts and preparing equipment for service or repair.
- Develop employees' skills to enhance safety, environmental compliance, operations, maintenance, and team participation.
- Maintain open communication with team members, company personnel, and management.
- Develop and manage a budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Ensure all DOT records and inspections are completed, current, and compliant.
- Ensure railcars and loading operations adhere to procedures and FRA standards.
- Understand product shipping/receiving, railcar movements, switching tracks, and railcar release procedures.
- Report excessive downtime promptly.
- Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork.
- Assist in managing annual budgets and capital projects.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Participate in field and facility audits.
- Ensure completion of LMS, Maximo, OPSINFO, PSM, DOT OQ items on schedule.
- Prioritize safety, O&Ms, and operational procedures in all tasks.
- Assist in other operational and business areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
