Job Summary

This role leads, oversees, coordinates and facilitates activities related to the manufacturing of medical devices, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with achieving production goals, efficiency and yield targets and cost objectives. Responsible for producing, tracking and managing the associated metrics, including Quality, Customer Service, Cost, People Development and Innovation for the responsible areas. Drive Lean Effort and Team engagement to meet the overall business result.

Essential Job Functions
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors personnel and resources by studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures, and correcting malfunctions within process control points.
  • Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, and resolving problems to meet goals.
  • Maintains quality service and compliance by establishing and enforcing company standards, OSHA regulations, and safety policies.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and organized work environment by directing personnel on proper use of equipment, control points, and resources; maintaining compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
  • Fosters a culture of respect, open communication, teamwork, and interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Leads or participates in continuous improvement projects using Lean, Kaizen, and other methodologies to improve quality, capacity, efficiency, space utilization, and scrap reduction.
  • Ensures equipment, tools, and measuring devices are properly used, maintained, and calibrated in assigned areas.
  • Reports on key metrics and performance statistics, recommends strategic changes, and participates in management meetings.
  • Maintains accurate company records and completes required forms, reports, and disclosures in a timely manner.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and manages employees to achieve performance and business objectives.
  • Resolves personnel issues, performs regular employee reviews, and ensures job‑relevant training is provided.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, integrity, reliability, problem‑solving, and decision‑making, modeling positive work behaviors for the team.
  • Drives on‑time delivery (OTD) and quality targets while identifying opportunities to increase productivity and eliminate waste.
  • Reads, interprets, and adheres to applicable drawings, blueprints, wire diagrams, manufacturing specifications, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with lockout/tag‑out procedures and addresses safety hazards promptly.
  • Regularly reports to work on time, maintains acceptable attendance, works overtime as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Knowledge and Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in business, operations, or manufacturing, preferably in medical device or other highly regulated industry
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred
  • ERP system experience such as Visual a plus.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including an internship in a relevant trade.
  • 2+ years in supervisory, management, or other role‑leading teams.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience working in manufacturing with trade terminology and nomenclature.
  • A thorough understanding and a working knowledge of all job phases.
Physical/Mental Involvement & Environmental Factors

Physical Requirements: While performing this job's duties, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch, crawl, and twist. Reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. Lift to 50 pounds. Talk and hear, both in person and by telephone.
Mental Requirements: Employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve non‑routine and complex problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions, and interact with staff, the public.
Working Conditions: 100% of work occurs inside an industrial office/warehouse environment. Employees work near moving machinery, mechanical parts, and vehicles and may be exposed to prolonged loud noise, including sirens, horns, and tooling. Employees may handle hazardous material or have exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, biological hazards, and airborne fumes. The noise level is usually mild to moderate, 75% of the time.
