Description Overview

We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our 3rd Shift Oral Care team located in Grand Rapids, MI.

• This position is responsible for a team that manufactures or packages products in a safe work environment and assures compliance with relevant government regulations, at a level of quality that meets or exceeds the customer expectations and supports company objectives.
• Accountable for ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the business run smoothly, driving continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, cost reduction, quality, and safety.
• Provide high quality support to their team and across the organization by building strong relationships and knowledge of Perrigo policies, procedures, and resources
• Coach and develop their team resulting in increased trust, engagement, and retention
• Serve as a mentor to associates by coaching, listening, and setting example for the role and responsibilities.
  
  

Scope of the Role

• Effectively manage a team of direct reports, ensuring their development, delegation of appropriate work and ensure best practices are being followed and developed.
• Ensure that each report has objectives, timely performance reviews, and appropriate career coaching
• Ensure that each associate has the necessary skills to meet their job expectations
• Additional responsibilities for coordinating and/or leading continuous improvement, general projects, and administrative activities across multiple shifts
• Coordinate and provide analysis of business unit metrics along with areas of focus for improvement.
• Allocate, lead, and coach resources in root cause problem solving analysis.
• Maintain necessary capacity through effective planning and staffing
• Achieve daily/weekly production goals through effective planning and staffing
• Provide and support a safe workplace where each person has a voice in creating a proactive and safe working environment
• Manage projects to timely completion and within budget
• Ensure TMS is up to date for employees
• Maintain time and attendance for direct reports
• Lead supervisors meeting to discuss and implement improvements to processes across the plant
• Champion for CI projects leading to safety and cost improvements
• Support effective implementation of all GMP requirements and understand how it affect products/processes supported and/or owned.
  
  

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years of Production environment experience, informal leader experience.
• Demonstrated growth in increased responsibility and leadership capability. Proven track record of completing supervisor level tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree encouraged, not required.
