Manage the shipping and receiving systems. Supervise warehouse personnel. Monitor operation of all equipment and systems. Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Coordinate activities with other departments. Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness. Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervising the shipping and receiving systems via local and customer WMS.
  • Supervising Value-Added Assembly (VAA) personnel.
  • Monitoring operation of VAA equipment and systems.
  • Managing and monitoring WMS, MES and HRIS systems.
  • Coordinating activities with other departments including transportation
  • Management of the local/corporate QMS
  • Coordinating activities with other departments.
  • Implementing programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Assisting with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
  • Involved in Multi-disciplinary Five Phase Problem Solving Teams that directly drives company’s
  • Continuous Improvement. Process and Policies.
  • Responsible for On-the-Job Training.
  • ·Ensures compliance to Comprehensive Dock Safety Procedures.
  • Ensures that material is shipped to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Determine the need to Hot Shot material and ensure that the Five Alarm Process is initiated and executed. ·
  • Ensures that the commodity distribution in any shipment is sufficient to meet customer needs. ·
  • Other duties as required.

General Requirements:

  • 3+ years of operations leadership experience within an Automotive, Third-Party Logistics,
  • Heavy Industrial/Manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must have proficiency in Third Party VAA Services including Part Sequencing, JIT, Value-Added
  • Sub-Assembly, Kitting, Repack, Deconsolidation, and Bulk and Small Lot Metering.
  • 3+ years leading/directing hourly personnel.
  • Ability to train others on processes, work instructions, and procedures.
  • Work flexible and overtime hours as necessary.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skill.
  • Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have a high level of motivation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a flexing, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May have oversite of hourly General Labor and Forklift Operators.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree

preferred.

  • None

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Warehouse Management System experience preferred.

Work Environment:

The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Employee will be exposed to variable temperature conditions based on the season. They will also be exposed to medium to loud noise conditions and may be working near vibration. Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Must have adequate hearing, eyesight, depth perception, and color vision to perform duties. Must be able to view a computer monitor and perform mouse and keyboarding tasks with dexterity and accuracy.
