Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the A320 Final Assembly Line in Mobile, AL, second shift.

The role leads all Station activities, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating with multi-functional teams across the A320 and A220 lines. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Aeronautical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, 4+ years in aviation manufacturing, and 2–5 years in leadership, with strong English communication and knowledge of

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Aviation manufacturing/engineering or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of leadership experience in Aviation preferred.
  • Experience with quality and logistics rules in aviation manufacturing; ability to communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all employees assigned to the Station; oversee performance, development needs and recognition.
  • Provide direction to production activities and monitor aircraft progression through the Station.
  • Enforce OSHA rules and safety commitments; act as a role model for safety.
  • Coordinate station activities with management, other stations and stakeholders; ensure material availability.
  • Develop manpower forecast based on workload and required skill sets to meet delivery schedules.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing problems early to prevent delays and optimize flow.

Operational Duties 70%: 1. Provide direction and oversight to production activities and monitor theprogress of the A/C through the Station. 2. Function as a role model and leader in the observance of OSHA rules andregulations. Ensure the importance and company commitment to safety is in the forefront of thought and action on the part of every employee. 3. Provide leadership to the Multi-Functional team in the absence of theBusiness Unit Leader. 4. Routinely report and update upper level management on A/C progressand alert colleagues to potential problems and solutions. Perform or assign tostaff analyses on operational issues, improvements and other savings initiatives. 5. Coordinate and communicate Station activities throughout the FAL,themanagement team, other FALs and relevant parties. 6. Insure orders and (work) material availability to guarantee work progress. 7. Apply insight, experience and interpersonal skills in order to achieveintegration of assigned teams between American and European team members. 8. Proactively identify and resolve problems to prevent disagreements andencourage cooperative work relationships. Engage with support staff fromQuality, Procurement and other specialty areas to improve work flow andenhance existing processes. 9. Responsible for the development of manpower forecast requirements based on workload and necessary skill sets required to meet the delivery schedule. 10. Identify, eliminate and, when able, anticipate problems, which occur in themanufacturing process, as quickly and as early as possible. 11. Participate and lead Station in achieving the annual objectives (e.g. CI,Quality Gates and specific KPIs). 12. Ensure the completion of specified work packages in compliance with costs, quality specifications and customer expectations. 13. Responsible for A/C documentation for Hand Over to next Station and also FOT (PIR-book, Folio, NC, Intervention Cards, Removal-Sheet-Book, etc.). 15. Responsible for daily attendance and time management of the assignedemployee group. 16. Responsible for ensuring that all value-added time is approved in thework-booking system.Continuous Improvement Duties 10%: 17. Support implementation of AOS improvement activities 18. Master all elements of the Performance Management Center to includeProduction Pace Control (PPC), SQCDP boards, Daily Quality Gate; along withthe knowledge transfer and Practical Problem Solving processes. Including thephysical updates to NC, Job Stops, and Job Blockers. 19. Support action plans to improve AOS grade for their assigned areaTraining and development 20%: 20. Mentor and develop the Lead Technicians in all facets of Leadership, andproduction processes. 21. Provide documented development plans to the workforce for careerprogression (Poly-Poly). 22. Provide input to the training department for needs and requirements forpersonnel development. 23. Aide in developing training criteria for their assigned area. 24. Manage corrective actions with employees as appropriate.Additional Responsibilities 25. As needed be involved in the Crisis Management Team and if needed leadthe team. 26. On 2nd shift and off shift working times must act as an escalation point. 27. On 2nd shift and off shift working times provide support to the workforce in regards to any emergencies that may arise. 28.
