Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer I (Process Engineer) to translate design intent into manufacturing instructions and manage the integrated Manufacturing Dossier for the ME A320 department in Mobile, AL.

You will support shop floor execution, development of routings, BoM, and SOI, and drive standardization and continuous improvement. The role requires reading 2D drawings, attention to metric units, and familiarity with SAP/R3 and Airbus tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office/Google Suite and data analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and use metric measurements.
  • Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools and SAP/R3 modules relevant to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize work methods and document procedures (SOI).
  • Synchronize station enablement and create/add/prioritize routings, BoM and SOI to meet shop floor needs.
  • Compute time estimates and apply Work Preparation Golden Rules per ABP processes.
  • Specify industrial assets (jigs, tools, machines) requirements for new or modified processes.
  • Plan regular feedback loops with Production Team and support shop floor issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to design-phase manufacturing considerations.
