Job summary

Allegion is seeking an Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift) at our McKenzie, Tennessee plant. You will lead hourly staff, drive daily production plans, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while pursuing continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, Lean knowledge, and the ability to develop people within a union environment. A high school diploma is required, with higher education preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in a Labor Union environment is highly preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles is highly preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop people with integrity and accountability.
• Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Lead a team of hourly associates to safely produce product and fill customer orders on time and to specification.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean tools and Kaizen events.
• Plan daily production activities to meet company goals and customer requirements.
• Ensure timely planning and production of materials for end customers or upstream needs.
• Oversee production accuracy in line with ISO and quality standards.
• Maintain safe operations per EHS procedures and KPIs.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Organize training to develop staff and leadership skills.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers and service providers.

Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Within our growing business, the operations supervisor is responsible for engaging their team and providing daily planning, guidance and supervision to direct reports. This leader will supervise production operations on 2nd shift at our McKenzie, Tennessee manufacturing plant. They will drive improvements within the department while maintaining records of all pertinent documentation. This role may also manage additional manufacturing and warehouse processes.

What You Will Do:

• Lead a team of hourly associates to safely produce product and fill customer orders on time and to specification, while achieving productivity targets.
• Engage the workforce in continuous improvement of key business metrics. Utilize lean manufacturing tools to eliminate waste. Lead Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen) when applicable. Write, implement, and improve standard work.
• Plan daily production activities in keeping with the company’s goals and objectives and align projects to meet requirements.
• Ensure timely planning and production of material to the end customer or upstream production needs.
• Oversee and review the accuracy of production in accordance with all ISO and quality standards.
• Ensure all operations functions are performed safely and in accordance with established EHS procedures.
• Maintain and issue operations performance KPI’s.
• Identify and implement cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency.
• Plan for the development of the staff by organizing training sessions.
• Provide leadership select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the business.
• Manage and communicate cross functionally within the organization, with suppliers, and service providers to support site‑specific shipping functions.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

• 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience of a team of similar size in a manufacturing setting
• Previous experience in a Labor Union environment is highly preferred
• High School Diploma is required
• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Production, etc.) highly preferred
• Exposure, knowledge, and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principals highly preferred
• Ability to work independently with a high standard of integrity and ethical behavior
• Proven ability to lead and develop people
• Proven ability to drive engagement within a team environment
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, peers, managers, and customers
• Analytical thinking skills and critical thinking mindset
• Detail oriented
• Ability to meet deadlines
