Job summary

Woodward is seeking an Operations Supervisor for a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, starting at 2:30pm) in Fort Collins, CO. You will lead front-line teams to hit daily production, quality, safety, and delivery goals in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key responsibilities include resource management, performance evaluations, problem solving, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional partners. Strong ERP/BI skills and lean mindset are required.

Salary & Benefits

Estimated hourly base pay: $85,000 -$110,000

The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, and other job-related reasons.

Job Description

Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re an Operations Supervisor, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Operations Supervisor leads and supports front-line teams to achieve daily production, quality, safety, and delivery goals. This role works closely with cross-functional partners to manage resources, solve operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday to Friday, starting at 2:30pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision: Provide direct support to front line team members in meeting their daily production targets to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Resource Management: Allocates and coordinates resources effectively to meet operational objectives.
  • Performance Management: Conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback, manages member development, recognition and ensures accountability and policy adherence.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves day-to-day technical and operational issues and coaching and mentoring team's problem-solving capabilities.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborates with key stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness to improve the production system and meet customer demand.

  • Lean Mindset: Follows lean practices such as 5S and waste reduction. Participates and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Team Focus: Ability to effectively lead team through 5S, Visual Management, standardized work, and Daily Management System.
  • Computer Skills: Strong skills in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for operational reporting. Ability to analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP. Basic understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for inventory and production scheduling.
  • Emotional Intelligence: The ability to recognize, understand, and manage your own emotions while effectively perceiving and responding to the emotions of others. This includes skills such as empathy, self-awareness, emotional regulation, social awareness, and relationship management to foster positive interactions and resolve challenges constructively.
  • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with team members to support overall team objectives and workflow. Ensuring team members are trained and certified. Collaborates across teams, shares knowledge, and supports team goals. Builds strong cross-functional relationships and fosters a collaborative culture.
