Job summary

Kampgrounds of America, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily campground operations across departments including staffing, inventory, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, guest services and recreation.

You will partner with the GM to meet monthly budgets, improve guest satisfaction and drive staff development while maintaining safety and quality standards on site. This on-site role requires flexibility for nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Ensure campground accounting follows procedures including cash handling.
  • Prepare reports related to procedures, efficiency and attendance.
  • Implement safety protocols for guests and staff on site.

Job description

Summary:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the campground, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience for all guests. This role involves managing various departments, including staffing, inventory, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, guest services, and recreational activities. The Operations Supervisor works closely with the management team to implement policies and procedures that enhance guest satisfaction and employee productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Communicate and correct deficiencies in these departments by collaborating with the departmental supervisor and GM.
  • Provide great customer service while improving guest satisfaction and raising the net promoter score.
  • Manage and support campground staff, including assisting in hiring, scheduling, and training.
  • Assist the GM in achieving monthly and annual budget requirements.
  • Ensure all accounting functions at the campground follow OAK procedures including correct and accurate cash handling.
  • Prepare reports as required, relating to procedures, efficiency, scheduling, attendance, etc.
  • Effective conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Comfortable in high-pressure and fast paced situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
  • Maintain property by following the quality assurance manual.
  • Function as Manager on Duty in the absence of GM.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff while complying with various local, state, and federal safety requirements.

Required Education and Experience:

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors and in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Office work requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, computer, copier, keyboard, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds regularly, lift and carry 25 pounds or more occasionally with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, reach overhead and move safely over uneven terrain.
  • Use of repetitive motion, standing, bending, sitting, lifting, and walking.
  • Noise levels may be moderate to loud.
  • May be exposed to dust, pollen, grasses, landscaping, and various chemicals and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment required where necessary.
  • Will experience occasional interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license required, this position may be expected to drive a motorized vehicle which requires close and distance vision, sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, etc. or travel by air.
