Job summary

Confire EMS is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee Paramedic duties plus deployment readiness and crew oversight. You will coordinate with Leadership, dispatch, and maintenance while ensuring adherence to state EMS rules, company policies, and standing orders.

Responsibilities include daily reports, vehicle checks, documentation, and incident reporting. A six-month probation applies; travel within service area is required as needed.

  • Paramedic certification required.
  • Ability to work under high-stress emergency conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all EMS calls dispatched from the center.

  • Maintain readiness of vehicles and equipment daily.
  • Complete PCRs, billing, and incident reports accurately and timely.
  • Submit and track trouble tickets and maintenance requests.
  • Staff shifts and ensure minimum deployment coverage.

Job description

ROLE SUMMARYThe Operations Supervisor completes all duties of Paramedic, in addition to the following expectations daily. Reports directly to Operations Manager and are held accountable for communication between operations supervisors, Leadership staff and multiple shifts.Paramedic provides patient care in both the emergency and non-emergency environment. Ensures compliance with all State EMS rules and regulations. Upholds all company policies and procedures including company medical director approved protocols and standing orders. Employees hired into this position are subject to a six-month introductory probationary period.This is an Hourly/Non-Exempt position.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Complete Daily Deployment Readiness FormLeadership ReportDiscrepancies completedLoop closure reports and system managementIT Equipment ManagementCheck Crews Queues Daily on Web PCRDaily Activities ReportDaily walk through to address needs of dispatch and maintenanceCheck paperwork for errors at the end of crew shiftsSubmit trouble tickets as neededFilling Schedules/TrucksTruck audits for ALS/BLS and enough trucks availableHandle crisis emails and respond to emailReturned paperwork issuesTimeliness accountabilityCome in-service, dailyRespond to all calls for service dispatched from the EMS communications center as directed.Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the company medical director protocols.Ensures ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily. Any deficiencies should be reported immediately to the Operations Manager.Prepares and completes appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, daily, weekly, and monthly unit check offs.Ensures unit and crew members adhere to our EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives, and standards. Reports any deficiencies to Operations Manager.Ensures vehicle placed in-service comply with required laws, rules license, and regulations as outlined by the State and other authorized agencies.Prompt and regular attendance at work and mandatory meetings.Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on duty.Maintain professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform either on or off duty.Self-motivated and requires little supervision and direction.Staffing open ambulance shifts as needed to assure minimum deployment requirements.Performs other such duties as may be requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum EMT-P (Paramedic) QualificationsBasic Life Support CertificationAdvanced Cardiac Life SupportPALS or equivalent certification (within 6 months of hire date)Current State of Driver’s LicensePositive Driving/Safety RecordPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others. Work is performed in a combination of:Ambulances and emergency response vehiclesPatient homes, healthcare facilities, accident scenes, and public settingsOperations offices, dispatch centers, and fleet/maintenance areasThis role routinely encounters high-stress, time-sensitive situations involving critically ill or injured patients. The employee may be exposed to:Communicable diseases and biohazard materialsBloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materialsVariable weather conditionsLoud noises, traffic hazards, and emergency scene risksThe Operations Supervisor must maintain composure, sound judgment, and professional leadership presence in emergent and non-emergent situations. The position requires flexibility in schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as operational needs dictate.Travel RequirementsThis position requires regular local travel within the assigned service area to support multiple shifts, stations, and field operations. Travel expectations include:Response to emergency and non-emergency calls as an active ParamedicTravel between stations, deployment sites, and operational facilitiesAttendance at meetings, trainings, and operational reviewsOccasional regional travel as directed by Operations or Executive LeadershipA valid driver’s license and insurable driving record are required. The employee must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including ambulances, in compliance with all State and company regulations.
