Primary Duties
- Ensures all activities adhere to safe operational practices and procedures to protect employees, the system, and the public.
- Oversees functional areas including service, construction/maintenance, meter reading, leak survey, corrosion, measurement, instrumentation, and controls.
- Manages multiple budgets; monitors actual versus budgeted expenditures; conducts annual performance reviews of assigned employees.
- Monitors federal and state laws and company standards to ensure compliance with internal and external audits and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains standards of productivity and safety; conducts training programs to improve performance and ensure compliance.
- Coordinates material and personnel requirements to meet regulatory compliance and customer safety; collaborates with engineering to schedule jobs.
- Responds to customer inquiries and complaints, coordinates emergency response and leak management activities.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports, including annual surveys, procedures, and compliance reviews.
- Promotes company vision, strategy, and wellness/safety initiatives; acts as a champion for public and shareholder engagement.
- Ensures all work follows policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Collaborates regularly with other departments to align goals and share best practices.
- Reviews the previous day’s work for quality control and continuous improvement.
- Participates in on-call rotation when applicable.
- Performs field visits to maintain visibility and support team operations.
- Establishes and maintains healthy business relationships with area developers, home builders, contractors, and economic/industrial development groups; educates existing and potential customers on the safety, affordability, reliability, and efficiency of natural gas.
- Provides 24‑hour on‑call support for emergency response and incident reporting.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Level
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and three years of related experience.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with five years of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Communication Skills
Requires the ability to provide explanations of technical or other complex matters to people with little or no background in the area under discussion.
Numeric Skills
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, simple statistical methods, and/or reconcile financial statements and accounts.
Computer Skills
Requires basic computer proficiency to create standardized documents, reports, or graphics using various software.
Work Conditions
Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally requiring bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and/or lifting.
