Job summary

Dohrn Transfer is seeking a Full Time Dock Supervisor at our Janesville, WI terminal. The role oversees hourly Operations, coordinates city route tasks and ensures on-time delivery while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The candidate will lead dock operations, monitor performance, and enforce safety standards. Valid forklift safety certification and supervisory experience are required, with strong communication skills and physical capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, supervision and discipline for hourly Operations team members.

• Ensure on-time delivery, minimize returns, and control costs.
• Monitor dock and line haul operations and adjust manpower as needed.
• Communicate across departments to ensure successful operations.
• Comply with regulations and report facility problems daily.

Dorhn is seeking a Full Time Dock Supervisor at our Janesville, WI terminal!

Wage $60k salaried

Hours Monday-Friday

• Provide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team members
• Route City operation
• Manage the daily performance of the City Pickup and Delivery Operation for optimal safety, performance, on-time Service, cost control, and claims prevention
• Ensure On-time Delivery service in accordance with the organizational goals by ensuring pick-ups and deliveries are made timely, efficiently, and returns are kept to a minimum
• Monitor Line Haul operation
• Monitor Dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as needed
• Solve problems regarding lost and missing freight
• Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure a successful operation
• Work in a safe and professional manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employees
• Report all facility problems to the Facility Maintenance Department
• Comply with federal, state, and company regulations
• Process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
• Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
• Perform other duties as needed
• A minimum age of 18

• Must have the knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and Routing

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
• Lifting various types of materials will be required cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc
• Common material handling tools will be used forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motors
• Standing, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending at the waist, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level will be required
• Must be physically capable of operating a forklift, pallet jack, load lock and two-wheel handcart
• Will be required to lift up, set down, slide or move weight unassisted that could exceed 80 pounds
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basis
• Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must have the ability to safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts and tractors
• Must have the ability to work around and operate motorized equipment
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job description
• May be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions in the dock environment; must be able to perform essential functions in these conditions
