Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Match or identify discrepancies of client trade economic details vs counterparty instruction; prepare settlement communications.
  • Monitor and resolve failed trades, cash movements, collateral settlements, or corporate actions.
  • Use BBH IMO technology and vendor products for daily transactional processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily requirements and update procedures.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, or in person.
  • Provide superior client service and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Understand systems and processes; follow policies and escalate risks; ensure data privacy and integrity.

Job description

Position Summary

The Global Institutional Middle Office (GIMO) acts as a conduit between a client’s front‑office trading, oversight functions, and back‑office servicing centers. This role is responsible for custody reconciliations, including matching and trade dissemination to the broker, the custodian and the fund accounting agent for BBH’s institutional clients. It also handles relationship management, processing and escalating claims, income collection, corporate actions, collateral management, failed trade monitoring, post‑execution and pre‑settlement functions, and creates consolidated views to support clients across all custodians and service providers.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Transaction Processing/Resolution: Match or identify discrepancies of client trade economic details versus counterparty instruction; prepare settlement communications to custodians; monitor and resolve failed trades, cash movements, collateral settlements, or corporate actions; work closely with clients and counterparties to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Technology: Utilize BBH IMO technology and vendor products to perform daily transactional processes.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with team members to meet daily requirements; update procedures as needed.
  • Communications: Communicate professionally and timely via email, phone, or in person with internal and external stakeholders; provide feedback on counterparty performance.
  • Client Service: Provide superior client service to ensure satisfaction and referenceability; respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Risk Mitigation: Understand relevant systems and processes; follow procedures, policies, and BCP protocol; proactively communicate and escalates risks, errors, and issues; ensure data privacy and integrity; avoid and mitigate cyber risks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • BA/BS degree; preference for Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics majors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time‑management, organizational, and detail‑orientation; ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to quality and ability to adapt to a changing business, legal, and regulatory environment.
  • Analytical aptitude for research, analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Interest and flexibility to work on different assignments and develop new skills within IMO.
  • General PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to focus on detailed information and work long hours on a computer.
  • Resilience under fast‑paced, high‑pressure conditions; willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid function (3 days weekly) in our Boston Office.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range (MA): $45,000 - $60,000 base salary plus an annual target bonus. BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit‑sharing. The anticipated base salary range shown above is for the Boston location and may differ in other locations. BBH’s total rewards package also includes health, long‑term savings, income protection, professional development opportunities, and time off.
