What is the opportunity?

You will serve as a dedicated point of contact/liaison between money managers, registered advisors, branches, trading, settlements, and other operation departments. Your responsibilities include assisting with live orders over the phone, actioning trade reject notifications, and promptly notifying the relevant parties. You will help resolve errors and trade issues, work with settlements, and be available during system downtimes. The role may involve mediating conflicts to find optimal solutions and managing risks through operational reviews and system checks.

What will you do?

  1. Perform complex tasks within your department and support colleagues when needed.
  2. Communicate effectively with traders, money managers, and RBC personnel, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  3. Monitor work volumes, reports, and inventories; resolve issues and escalate critical trends.
  4. Evaluate processes for efficiency improvements and implement agreed changes.
  5. Assist during high-volume periods or staff absences to ensure timely processing.
  6. Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.
  7. Recommend enhancements to procedures and processes.
  8. Maintain and verify data in systems, including generating statistical reports.
  9. Understand the impact of processing on clients and downstream departments.
  10. Refer to manuals for instructions and task assignments.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of operations experience or related industry experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle stress and multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Series 7 and 63 or 66 licenses.
  • Knowledge of Equity and Option markets.

Nice-to-have

  • College degree.
  • Experience with Equity, Options, Preferreds, Settlements.
  • Familiarity with RBC’s back office systems.
  • Experience on a trading desk or in trade operations.
