Job summary

Aon is hiring an Operations Specialist II in Bannockburn, IL. The role supports Aon Business Services and ACS Operations, Metrics and Automation, providing data, analysis, and process improvements.

The position is hybrid (in office and remote) and involves collaboration across locations to meet SLAs and drive efficiencies. The candidate will review AR transactions, manage cash-related processes, and develop operational reports while partnering with finance and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and/or equivalent with 3+ years related experience.
• SQL experience preferred; VBA experience is a plus.
• Excel, Access and database analytics experience required or preferred.
• Hands-on Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts and data links.

As the Operations Specialist, you will support Aon Business Services and ACS Operations, Metrics and Automation Team. This opportunity is viewed as a business partner & advisor who assist varying levels of business unit and corporate personnel in providing analysis, information and data to support achievement of business plans. Additionally, responsible for pulling data via queries and implementing automation and process efficiencies. This role is located in Bannockburn, IL and will be hybrid (In office & remote)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works across business units to provide direction on actions needed to clear open accounts receivable
• Oversee the review and resolution of outstanding financial transactions
• Support cash management initiatives
• Create and analyze complex operational reports
• Work with finance and account team to produce ad-hoc reports
• Collaborate with colleagues from other locations and departments to facilitate data requirements
• Follow standard practices in technology development within the department
• Assist with proactive management of team deliverables
• Policy Management System conversion testing and support
• Perform research to resolve complex discrepancies or client servicing challenges
• Ensures requests received are processed within applicable service level agreement
• Ad hoc analysis utilizing Aon systems and databases
• Identify trends and work with leadership to develop action plans
• Business decision support
• Aggregate and consolidate Operational and Financial reports
• Ensure company and division policies are practiced and supported
• Other responsibilities and enterprise duties as assigned
• Create operational reports for daily business processes
• Create ad-hoc reporting on an as needed basis
• Collaborate with colleagues from other locations to facilitate data requirements
• Relies on experience, judgment and best practices to plan and accomplish goals
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and/or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school; 3 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of related work experience
• SQL experiencepreferred
• Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) experience preferred

• Hands-on experience using Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, graphs, functions, links as well as working with external Client/System data preferred
