The GW Medical Faculty Associates is hiring an Operations Specialist-EMT to support its telemedicine efforts and communications center. This role involves facilitating health interactions, documenting communications, and may include staffing for medical standby coverage at events. Candidates must have EMT certification, experience, and strong communication skills to excel in this dynamic environment.
Position Summary
The Department of Emergency Medicine, Innovative Practice maintains a 24/7/365 telemedicine and communications center. The purpose of this center is to coordinate and document care via telemedicine and facilitate the concierge and event medicine practice. Most calls are inbound from ships, aircraft, and remote sites/bases around the globe. In addition, the communications center serves as a single point of contact for our event and concierge medical practices.
We are currently seeking an Operations Specialist-EMT for all shifts. Night shift receives a differential on top of advertised pay band. The primary purpose of this position is to staff the communications center, however, this position can also be used to staff events for medical standby coverage.
As an Operations Specialist-EMT you will need to:
Complexity and Judgment
Work consists of a number of complex and diversified duties. The Operations Specialist-EMT makes decisions while following standard policy/procedures. A supervisor is consulted in unusual situations and/or where there is an exception to policy and standard procedure. The Communications Specialist/EMT will have contact/interaction with personnel in other departments, personnel in other departments and individuals and groups from outside the MFA.
