Job summary

COLSA is seeking a full-time OPSEC professional in Quantico, VA to perform assessments, support systems engineering for MOST developments, and facilitate OPSEC policy adherence across Marine Corps and DoD. The role requires formal OPSEC training and US citizenship with TS-SCI clearance, with travel 1–2 weeks per quarter. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Education: high school diploma with 6–10 years of related work OR a bachelor's with 3–5 years of related work.
  • Formal OPSEC training from US Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps.
  • US Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility within 2 years.
  • Ability to travel up to 1–2 weeks per quarter.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in OPSEC assessments and surveys of Marine Corps CONUS and OCONUS Commands, providing advice and recommendations for reports.
  • Support development of a systems engineering approach to continue the MOST and related processes.
  • Coordinate with Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies and Operations to align USMC OPSEC policy with DoD/JCS requirements.
  • Assist the Service Enterprise with adherence to USMC OPSEC policy across the organization.
  • Support development of OPSEC capability across the enterprise addressing DOTMLPF gaps.
  • Coordinate OPSEC capability development with DON and Joint/DOD requirements.
  • Provide advisory services for Marine Corps OPSEC doctrine and policy enhancements.
  • Develop analytical approaches to integrate OPSEC planning into military operations.

This is a full-time position expected to last through the return of an employee on military leave August 2026 with the potential to extend through February 2027.


Principal Duties And Responsibilities


  • Participate in OPSEC assessments and surveys of Marine Corps CONUS and OCONUS Commands, and gather information, provide advice, opinion, recommendations, and other non-distortionary services to the development of subsequent findings and reports.

  • Support in the development of a systems engineering approach to continue the development of the MOST and supporting processes.

  • Facilitate coordination with Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies and Operations in ensuring USMC Policy on OPSEC meets all DOD and Joint Staff levied requirements.

  • Assist the Service Enterprise, from Supporting Establishment to Operating Forces, with adhering to USMC Policy on OPSEC.

  • Support the Service's combat development institutions and processes to assist Government personnel develop OPSEC capability across the enterprise that addresses DOTMLPF gaps.

  • Facilitate the coordination of the development of USMC OPSEC capability with DON, and all Joint and DOD levied requirements.

  • Provide advice, opinions, recommendations and other non-discretionary services for Marine Corps OPSEC doctrine and policy enhancements.

  • Support the development of analytical approaches to integrate OPSEC planning initiatives and efforts into military operations and evaluating/validating its implementation.

  • Assist with coordinating OPSEC support from military and Governmental agencies, as needed, to include, but not limited to: the Interagency OPSEC Support Staff (IOSS), Joint Information Operations Warfare Center/Joint OPSEC Support Element (JOSE), Service Information Warfare Centers or OPSEC Support Elements, and the Joint Staff.

  • Support the development of OPSEC-specific analytical reports to support vulnerability assessments and OPSEC programs.

  • Support the development of trends and analysis reports concerning Marine Corps OPSEC posture and maintain currency in awareness of "OPSEC Best Practices" across the service and DOD.

  • Support the development and submission of ad-hoc reports.

  • Support the integration OPSEC into support of USMC MILDEC and SIGMAN initiatives

Required Experience


  • One of the following Education Requirements:

    • High School Diploma with minimum 6-10 years experience in related work OR

    • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related work



  • Formal OPSEC training from the US Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps

  • US Citizen / Active TS/SCI Clearance or current eligibility for SCI (within 2 years)

  • Ability to travel up to 1-2 weeks per quarter


Preferred Qualifications


  • Federal employment with the USMC or prior military service

  • Experience as a planner with HQMC or on a military staff.

  • Experience or formal training with MILDEC and SIGMAN
