C & S Sweeping Services, Inc., founded in 1979 in Cleveland, Ohio, has developed a solid reputation for providing high-quality service within the commercial power sweeping industry in Ohio, Arizona, and Colorado. We offer a comprehensive range of services including power and regenerative air sweeping, dust control, pressurized roadway, roto milling, and trucking, serving environments such as highways, residential streets, subdivisions, construction sites, airports, factories, and parking lots.

Our objective is to establish and maintain strong relationships with our clients through our commitment to quality service.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety Director to join our growing team. The Operations & Safety Manager will:

  1. Manage driver training, including heavy haul operations.
  2. Create operations manuals and safety procedures.
  3. Oversee drivers' safe performance and ensure compliance with DOT FMCSA requirements.
  4. Maintain safety records, files, and logs including DOT, FMCSA, OSHA.
  5. Design and implement standard operating procedures.
  6. Create, train, and implement a comprehensive Safety Program/IIP.
  7. Conduct safety training for new hires.
  8. Perform pre-employment road tests and oversee new hire training.
  9. Inspect drivers and field crews regularly.
  10. Investigate and report accidents and injuries.
  11. Lead safety meetings, recording agendas and attendance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • CDL Class A license required.
  • Experience with oversized, overweight tractor trailers, including jeep extensions and 14-speed end dumps.
  • Minimum three years in safety transportation, with knowledge of FMCSA DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Clean driving record for the past 39 months, passing background checks and drug tests.
  • Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in English, with strong report analysis and regulatory interpretation skills.
  • Effective communication skills for building relationships at all organizational levels.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • ASP or CSP certification preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class A.

Experience:

  • Presentation skills: 2+ years.
  • FMCSA regulatory compliance: 3+ years.
  • Experience with OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations: 3+ years.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive safety programs for transportation and construction sectors.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Work Availability:

  • Flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, days, and nights.
  • Willing to travel 20-30% across the U.S.

Physical Demands:

  • Work in various outdoor climates, exposure to outdoor environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, squat, crawl, reach, climb, balance, and occasionally lift/move 75 lbs.
