Job summary

Proof of the Pudding is seeking seasonally contracted Operations Runners for Mississippi State University events. The role is part-time and hands-on, involving stocking, receiving, and serving in fast-paced stadium venues.

Prior food service operations or logistics experience is preferred, with ServSafe certification or training available. You will move equipment, stock concessions, and support gameday operations while maintaining high safety and service standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year experience in a food service role emphasizing operations or logistics; stadium/large venue experience preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or able to obtain training.

Responsibilities

  • Receive product and equipment using forklift, pallet jack, golf cart or box truck.
  • Restock concession stands from warehouse using FIFO.
  • Stock concessions, bars, popup locations, and suites throughout events.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Assist in gameday operations and interact with guests professionally.
  • Ensure hot and cold food delivery meets safety standards.
  • Assist with event breakdown and inventory after events.

Job description

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.

We are seeking Operations Runners for Mississippi State University. The ideal candidate has experience in food service operations, enjoys a position always on the move, and is organized with a hardworking mentality.

This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Receiving product and equipment using a forklift, pallet jack, golf cart, or box truck.
  • Restocking concession stands from the warehouse using FIFO.
  • Stocking concessions, bars, popup location, and suites throughout the event venue with equipment and food & beverage products according to pull-sheets or direction from management.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Plug-and-play electrical and propane equipment.
  • Assists in all gameday operations as business needs dictate.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and upbeat manner.
  • Ensuring hot and cold food is delivered in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with disassembly and event breakdown: end of event inventory, warehouse stocking, and organization of equipment and leftover food products.
  • Work efficiently and independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food contact surfaces such as dishes, small wares, and food prep surfaces.
  • Punctual and consistent work ethic.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year experience in a food service role emphasizing operations or logistics, experience in high volume of stadium food & beverage preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or is available to receive training.
Specialized Qualifications
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Comfortable receiving on-the-job training to perform their responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills with both team members and guests.
  • Ability to use machinery or work with another team member to move heavy equipment.
  • A good memory and ability to problem solve effectively.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position will be event operations and working out of the Arena, Convention Center or similar venues. This position will often move throughout campus and stadium grounds on different terrains.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines. Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling throughout the stadium and location.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 30 pounds at times.
