Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related field with 3+ years of military ops/assessments; or Bachelor's with 5+ years.
  • Experience briefing concepts to executive/senior decision makers (GO/FO/SES).
  • Proven ability to design, administer and evaluate research instruments for military operations.
  • Experience integrating data analytic tools, including AI/ML enabled tools, in assessments and research.

Responsibilities

  • Applies OR methodologies and data science to analyze complex systems and effects.
  • Analyzes operational data, intelligence reporting, and social media signals for patterns and trends.

  • Synchronizes assessment activities across joint staff and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluates second- and third-order effects to support planning and risk management.

The Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and implements assessment frameworks (quantitative and qualitative) using measurable indicators (MOEs/MOPs) to evaluate operational effectiveness of Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), Irregular Warfare and Sensitive Activities

  • Applies operations research methodologies, statistical modeling, and data science techniques to analyze complex systems and impacts on the operational and/or information environment

  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of operational data, intelligence reporting, and social media signals to identify patterns, trends, and behavioral changes

  • Tests attribution, causality, and statistical significance linking operations to observed outcomes, while explicitly quantifying uncertainty and confidence levels

  • Implements, develops and/or validates analytical models to assess courses of action, capabilities, risks, and tradeoffs to inform commander decision-making

  • Translates complex operational problems into structured analyses with clear visualizations, concise written reports and executive-level briefings for government decision makers

  • Defines data/information/intelligence requirements, collection methods, and quality control processes to maintain analytic rigor and longitudinal integrity

  • Synchronizes assessment activities across joint staff, service components, and external stakeholders, aligning assessments with operational plans and activities and with the command battle rhythm

  • Evaluates second and third-order effects of operations through system behavior analysis and simulation to support planning and risk management

  • Documents methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and lessons learned to preserve institutional knowledge and ensure analytic transparency

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Master's degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics) and 3+ years of experience supporting military operational planning and/or assessments for OIE, IW, Sensitive Activities, or compartmented activities; -OR- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience supporting military operational planning and/or assessments for OIE, IW, Sensitive Activities, or compartmented activities

  • Experience briefing or delivering written concepts to executive/senior-level (GO/FO/SES) decision makers

  • Successful track record in designing, administering and/or evaluating research instruments and activities in support of military operations

  • Demonstrated experience integrating data analytic tools, to include AI/ML enabled tools, in support of assessments and research

Desired:

  • PhD in relevant field of study and expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise applying operations research, systems and data analysis to military evaluations and assessments for OIE, IW, and Sensitive Activities

  • 5+ years of experience supporting military operational assessments and research at the CCMD, Service Component Command, Joint Task Force or similar level

  • Familiarity with CENTCOM and/or AFRICOM AORs

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$65,000 - $136,500
